Book Indexing
I have several years of indexing experience—I've written and prepared indexes for numerous academic books from the fields of Literature, History, Art, Cinema Studies, Legal Studies, Anthropology, Sociology, Psychology, and International Studies. My indexes have been included in books that have been published in a variety of outlets, including: Routledge, Duke University Press, Princeton Univerity Press, Cambridge University Press, University of Wisconsin Press and MIT Press.
Producing an index is generally one of the last tasks that an author is asked to complete before their work is finally sent to press. Given that it often coincides with the task of reviewing final proofs, many authors may find it tedious to also be asked to write an index. Especially at the end of the long process of research and writing, it is understandably a lot to ask of an author. But a well-written index is invaluable to a book's readers. It can help a reader navigate your book and, most importantly, find what is most useful to their own work. For these reasons, enlisting the services of a professional indexer is often a great choice.
